Public philosophy is a personal passion of mine and a thoroughly underserved area within academic philosophy. I am currently working towards a certificate in public engagement and through that am developing outreach programs as well as plans for more accessible, fun, and grounded resources for engagement with philosophy.
Ethics Bowl
Ethics bowl is a collaborative club tasked with evaluating and taking positions on cases in applied ethics provided by the association for practical and professional ethics. It provides students with a safe and semi-structured space to engage in meaningful well-reasoned discourse about current real world issues. Ethics bowl at Missouri has brought philosophy to many students who might not other wise get the opportunity, and in fact the overwhelming majority of participants in our club are not philosophy majors. Students also gain the opportunity to compete in regional and national competitions against other schools. Noticing that Mizzou did not have a team, I created one in spring of 2025 and have been running it since. I also serve as a judge for the High School ethics bowl competition.
P.S. In our first time competing during the fall of 2025 at regionals, we took first place!

An Introduction to Philosophy: Mapping your Intuitions
I am currently creating a website that engages users with popular thought experiments and tracks their intuitions to build individual “thought profiles.” The thought experiments are explained concisely in basic language to allow for engagement from a public audience. After going through a number of thought experiments, users are provided with profiles detailing: a list of philosophers with similar intuitions, where there are potential tensions in their answers, further resources to explore the cases they were most unsure of, and also resources for the opposing side of their most strongly held intuition. The goal is to spark curiosity and direct users towards further engagement with the thought experiments (and their own initial intuitions).
Philosophy Through Media
I am currently working on curating a list of board games, video games, movies, tv shows, and other media types that can be used to teach/exemplify specific papers or thought experiments.
